Workshops at Blue House Art

At Blue House Art, my goal is to make painting approachable, inspiring, and fun. Whether you’re brand new to oils or ready to deepen your skills, these workshops are designed to help you slow down, explore, and rediscover your creative side.

Each workshop includes all materials, so you can simply show up and create.

I currently offer two ways to paint together, both open to all experience levels:

Oil Painting 101 — 4-Week Series

A small-group workshop for anyone looking to learn the foundations of oil painting in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Over four weeks, we’ll cover color mixing, composition, brushwork, and working wet-on-wet. Each class includes a short demo, guided exercises, and plenty of time to experiment and paint your own piece.

Perfect for: beginners or anyone returning to painting after a break

Alla Prima — One-Night Workshop

A relaxed, one-night painting session that’s all about expression and play. “Alla prima” means “at first attempt,” a direct painting approach where you complete a piece in one sitting.

We’ll focus on capturing color and light without overthinking — a fun way to unwind and experiment, no experience required.

Perfect for: total beginners, date nights, or creative nights out
